Mission Jannat

Everyone wants to go to heaven.
So I assume that it must be a nice place to be at.
But how many of us have seen it?

Well, we have heard a lot.
In particular; from those folks who themselves have not got a mere glance of it.

Many a time people end-up screwing their entire life for the sake of being at heaven, 'jannat' after they die.  Usually these folks are honest, God-fearing, often sacrifice their own happiness for others and most significantly; they are forbidden to listen to their own heart.

But the question is: what they get out of it?

Oh yes. We can’t discount the weighty jargons like: joy of giving, enchant feeling, being selfless, state of nirvana etc etc (much more like moksh..wow!). However, these phrases suits better in a classic literature or at a devotional speech. The time when these folks are on the verge of dying...all of a sudden they realise a crude fact, i.e. 'in search of the so called heaven, they forgot to live’.

You all might call me an atheist, but I don’t mind to be one; if that’s the way we live, i.e. a vegetable’s life.

You adore somebody; get love and affection in return.
You play with someone’s emotion; get ready to be screwed up by someone else.

There is nothing called as ‘hell’ or ‘heaven’…one gets paid off for his/her deeds right here on this earth. Live your life and never regret for something which made you smile.

It is a free world and no one stops you to go ahead and gracefully pursue the ‘mission jannat’ game!

Not always

A beautiful line between triumph and the reverse
Touches the hope and the hopeful minds

An affable welcome to someone
Delineates what you are…not always

Reversible consequences
A quagmire…of trust, verve n ecstasy

A paragon appearance
Crafts a mystique...not always

Reminiscences are more lovable that the actuality
A sealed window...through which I used to see an enchant rainbow

“Memories are good…but that’s all they are
Well…hmm…not always

P.S : Silence is good…the glittering stars, crackling branches, leaves, zephyr, dust and the moon.
All says that am here… me, my lungful of air, my heartbeat and a pair of eyes filled with dreams…

Someday...Revisited

Someday u will stand lone n weary
Someday u will be in a melancholy
Someday u will sense how colourless u’r life is
Someday u will remorse n cry for losing me on the midway
Someday u will yearn for my love
Someday u will realize the fallacy of “only I and I”

Well then…u will
Ponder…the strength of me behind u
Crave for a shoulder to rest u’r head
Apprehend…probably the colour of u’r life was me
Understand…it was not me who said “let's not cross each other's way”
feel the “me” in u
Appreciate…the rationale behind being “We”
Indeed someday!

P.S.: Swapna! thanks a lot for u'r inputs. All credit goes to u dear  :)

The Kite

“You have to fly high”

The boy repeated...

He rescued a kite from the near-by electric pole which; a while ago, was struggling for its existence. He applied some glue at requisite places of the coiled kite. The also added a signature golden colored paper tail to that kite.

It was all set to fly. However the wind was not favorable; yet the boy was quite poised about the kite.

Wow! Finally some cool breeze arrived. The boy was overwhelmed. At last his efforts were going to be paid off. Now the kite shot up like a rocket and gradually the boy loosened the string to let the kite go higher and higher in the sky. The kite seemed to please its master’s wish and within no time it was flying amid a flock of birds.

One bird started mocking at the kite…

Bird: Hey…what do you think of yourself you moron? I remember that sometime back you had been   shattered by a friend of mine and you again dare to fly amongst us!!!

Kite: Brother. I can also fly. You see, I too got a tail like you. If my master wishes, even I can go higher than you. Yet I don’t complain. Yet if unintentionally I have committed any mistake, please forgive me.

The bird laughed and said: “brother!...huh…You idiot, how dare you to compare yourself with us… unlike you, we don’t depend on the mood of the wind…we have a pair of wings, we have life and over all we are not attached with a string, and it’s a free world for us. See your master is pulling your string. Get lost from my way”

The kite was going down.
Out of the blue it wanted to fly higher.
But it had forgotten that the remote control was in the boy’s hand…the strings.

The kite fought hard, after some struggle it managed to get detached from the string.
It went up and up; never looked back.

P.S. : I wish if I were that kite...

Price Tag (Part - II)

After a Month

While Rajat was opening a new box of dresses; he saw Payal marching towards his showroom. Not again! What else this girl wants now!

P: Hi Rajat. Do you have 10 mins. I want to talk to you now.

R: Hmm…bolo.

P; Hey dude…am so sorry for that day’s episode. I overreacted then. Actually that day I had a fight at office and I had a heated argument with my boss. You were right. There was no defect in that dress. It was so beautiful. It fitted me so well. Probably the laundry man used a fabricated statement as he was not able to do his job properly. I know you man. You can’t be dishonest. Hey…today I have carried the entire 4k. No no, I will pay you 4.5k as it’s a new business set-up for you. How can you sell an item without any profit? Hey Rajat…where is my dress, am missing it everyday. Please give it to me.

R: Payal…the day you returned it to me, I put the same on a mannequin and I was bit sceptic about putting a 5k price tag on it. It should not be 5k as no longer it’s a fresh piece and you complained that it was a defective piece too. So I had decided to put 4k instead of 5k. Just before even I could put a tag on the same, a young lady came in to my showroom and she said “wow! Since I have seen a lady wearing a similar type of dress at a party, I have been searching the entire market for this. Finally I got it. Anyway, how much is the price…am sure it must be around 10k, isn’t it?”

R: Yes mam, it’s 10k.

That lady happily paid 10k and thanked me for providing her the outfit which she was searching for.

P: Oh no… don’t you have a similar piece at your store?

Rajat smiled and said “That was a master piece”

N.B: Usually Rajats face lots of obstacles, challenges; but at the end of the day they are rewarded and placed amidst the bunch of happier folks coz they are honest in life.

Payals are never satisfied with life. You give them the best and yet they doubt the integrity and complain… this saga continues throughout. They are not bad…not at all; indeed at times they are superb; but they are indecisive folks who fluctuate a lot. Occasionally they forget one of the fundamentals, i.e. “We don’t know what we have until we lose it”…they realise it, but sometimes it’s too late.

Price tag (Part - I)

Payal and Rajat were best buddies.

Rajat had a boutique at the city centre. Recently Payal had joined as a receptionist at the coaching institute adjacent to Rajat’s boutique. He was a dedicated guy who imported quality cloth lines from Mumbai and his reputation as an honest and polite merchant had helped him establish his set up in the city. One day Payal came to Rajat’s boutique and she saw a mannequin wearing a beautiful black dress. It was truly a marvelous piece.

Payal : Hey Rajat… from where did you get this collection, it’s gorgeous.

Rajat : Oh that one…yes, that’s a new fashion collection.

P: This must be very costly. By the way, may I know how much it costs?

R: I sell that with a price tag of 5 grand.

P : (she looked gloomy) hmm…that’s pretty expensive, not within my budget. However I wanted to have that one, but leave it…

R: See Payal, out of that 5k usually I make a profit of 1k. You are my friend, so I can give it to you for 4k, i.e. my cost price.

P: Hmm…but I don’t have even that much. I only have 1k. But I really wanted it. It’s so beautiful!
Now Rajat started thinking…what to do, he didn’t want to hurt the feelings of his best buddy

R: Ok Payal, give me that 1k and take this dress. But please pay me the rest 3k when you have money. As you know it’s a new business for me.

R: Oh…sure.

Payal hugged Rajat and said: “I know…you are my best buddy! Can I use the trial room…I can’t resist my temptation of wearing the dress”.

After 10 mins Payal came out of the changing room and she was looking adorable. Probably that dress was just made for her. It was a perfect fit! She thanked Rajat and promised that very soon she will pay him rest of the amount.

After 2 weeks

Rajat was busy with his customers and Payal stormed in. She was visibly very exasperated. Rajat assimilated that something is not just right. So he said: “Payal…what happened, you look a bit tensed. Would you like to have some water? Give me couple of minutes, let me be done with these customers and then we can talk”

P: Aur kitne bewakuf banaoge aapni customer ko… what a piece of crap is this? (Now she took out the same dress which she purchased from Rajat on an “instalment without any interest” based system). It looks horrible. Even it doesn’t fit well. I am sure that it has some manufacturing defect and that’s the reason why you were so generous to sell it for lower price. Wow Rajat… what an intelligent merchant you are! Aur koi nai mila tumko. Dude you have sold me a defected item? Even this dress requires regular dry-cleaning. You never mentioned this to me. I have already spent 100 bucks at the laundry and the laundry guy also told me “madam…why are you spending so much on a defected piece?” You have given me loads of stress Rajat. How can you do this to your best friend? You have hurt my feelings.

Rajat was silently listening to all this. He was wondering, i.e. what has gone wrong.
Slowly he replied “What do you want me to do…please say it”

P: I don’t know. I can’t think of anything. I am stressed out only coz of u…that’s it.

R: Payal…I never intended to but I am sorry for the trouble you faced. Please take your thousand bucks and give me that dress. I will figure it out what to do with it. You don’t worry.

Payal immediately returned that dress and took the bucks from Rajat and she left.
Since that day Payal completely stopped talking to Rajat. Well, it was quite awkward for Rajat, but gradually he focused on his work and tried to erase-out that incident from his mind.

To be cont...
